A Taste Of Life In Tobago
A holiday at Tobago is not just about sun, sand, and sea; this little island is also famous for its exotic birds, leather back turtles and some really fun adventures. Every year, during the spring season, a large number of turtles return to the Island shores to lay their eggs and renew their cycle of life. Watching those turtles as they nest is a unique experience and also a really beautiful one.
The Leather Back Turtles:
Leatherback turtles are known to be the biggest marine turtles in the World and have the widest migratory paths of any oceanic species. Some have been tracked on paths which take them on cross ocean journeys to both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Unfortunately, these species are critically endangered and face a very HIGH risk of extinction. So patrols try to establish a “secure” parameter for people who come to see them.
Goat Racing:
Apart from the turtle watching, another ‘must see’ at this southern most Caribbean Island is Goat Racing. This spot has the most fascinating view where animals are tethered with human runners who begin the race behind a gated start line, very similar to a horse racing start gate. As the race starts the participant’s whiz down the fortified track and an announcer gives live updates to the crowd.
Exploring unspoiled places, indulging in adventure sports, and witnessing exquisite fauna, a Caribbean adventure is a journey of the soul, and if you want to make it sweeter, Bacolet Beach Club is the place to be. This boutique hotel is situated in a stunningly beautiful location which makes it quite a hot spot for an awe inspiring vacation. In fact, the staff does everything imaginable to make each day of your holiday memorable. The food here is fantastic and the ambience mesmerizing. You can order at your room or can indulge in exotic dishes at their Asian-Cuban restaurant and bar called Café Havana . And the best part is, you will not have to shell out too much money, as everything is pretty reasonable.
