BEACH VACATION: FISHING IN TOBAGO

Tobago rivals any Caribbean island in terms of both the range and the quality of fish caught on a regular basis. Tobago, in fact, is a sport angler's fantasy with exciting game fish, including white marlin, blue marlin, wahoo, tuna, swordfish, barracuda, shark and dolphin. The opportunity for fishing is great all year round but the biggest months are February, March and April, when the island hosts the International Game Fishing Tournament.

However, if you’re on a beach vacation with the intention to simply unwind with a few hours of fishing, you can cast a line from several parts of the island. Beside the Crown Point and Pigeon Point, you will find mackerel, tarpon, snappers, snook, groupers, permit, and bonefish.

Rock fishing is another popular pastime for several Tobagonians who practice their skill around Tobago’s coastline by using nothing but some fish pieces and a simple line. A good place to try rock fishing is the rocks on the left side of the beautiful Back Bay. However, it’s important to take care of the slippery surfaces and the tide or the periodic big wave. For tips and a little help, simply ask any of the local people you meet on the rocks. Caution is important when you travel to Trinidad and Tobago.

Apart from fishing there are several other things that you can do on this island. For a carefree, adventurous vacation book yourself at the Bacolet Beach Club. This elegant beach resort offers a secluded beach, an infinity pool, beautiful Tobago villas and the most exotic menu. The staff also arranges for exciting fishing and diving excursions for both amateurs and experts. Moreover, the club is merely fifteen minutes from the airport and only a few miles from the capital, Scarborough. For more info visit http://www.bacoletbeachclub.com/
