Natural Wonders of Tobago

No other Caribbean island possesses quite the same range of natural wonders as Tobago. This quirky paradise is gifted with pristine waterfalls descending in a series of stepped cascades, mesmerizing coral reefs, picturesque villages and historical relics. Here is a look at some of Tobago’s most beautiful landmarks.

Botanical Gardens

Acres of tropical shrubs and trees that lope from the northern end of Scarborough to southwards make up the botanical gardens. Exotic species like the African Tulip are found here.

Buccoo Reef

Buccoo Reef is a protected marine park, which is also the most popular reef on Tobago. The best way to witness the varied variety of species found here is by hiring a glass bottom boat.

Fort King George:

Only a short trip from Scarborough, the relics of Fort King George remain as one of the Islands’s most preserved monuments. The fort was built in the 1770's and the cannons still remain, overlooking the coast.

Charlotteville:

Charlotteville is an un-spoilt fishing village, used as a diving base. Almost 60% of Tobago’s fishing catch comes from this village.

Castara:

Situated on the northern coast Castara is extremely picturesque with sheltered blue bays, small houses and stunning scenery.

An inspiration for "Robinson Crusoe", Tobago sure is a paradise for nature lovers. However, if you really want to enjoy this tropical getaway fully, a stay at the Bacolet Beach Club is a must. Lying on the white sands on a private beach and sipping chilled cocktails while listening to the tropical calypso ballads is how beautiful life can get at this boutique hotel. Moreover, to make things more entertaining, the management also arranges for activities such as diving, golfing, tennis and the like.
